“Wink has not touched my eyes, ever since I saw Thee!”

-      Paramahansa Yogananda in Cosmic Chants

Introduction

Individual self-awareness is a spiritual gift that was received by certain lucky lifeforms existing on this planet about 6000 years ago. The gift of gifts was bestowed by a vastly more advanced form of consciousness than we now possess, for which we should be forever grateful, because those lifeforms were our ancestors. The sublime gift of individual self-awareness, however, includes the double-edged sword of free will, which makes the prospect of an individual, unassisted by any more advanced entity, accelerating the natural expansion of his or her awareness a daunting, if not almost impossible challenge. At this point in this 12,000-year cycle of planetary time, as spiritual beings occupying physical forms, we have a limited measure of free will, with only a few options to choose from. But the choices we make are critical. They determine, through the inexorable rules of cause and effect, whether we will advance, stall, or regress on our long twisted and tortured journey toward the perfection of Cosmic Consciousness in this lifetime.

Some of the choices that are open to us are good and some are bad with respect to the advancement of our physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. We have enough intelligence in the innate brain power of the physical forms of our species to analyze our circumstances from day-to-day and make good choices - if we keep the purpose of life and the goal of spiritual advancement in mind. But this is hard. The most basic fundamental choice we have to make is the choice of accepting or rejecting the existence of a higher or perfected form of Primary Consciousness as the source of our being and the reality we experience. If we make the right decision, then the eventual realization of our identity as part of, or perhaps even one with the Infinite is our reason for existing, the purpose of life and our ultimate goal. Whether you choose to work with or against the purpose of existence and the logical structure of the physical, mental, and spiritual reality created for that purpose, is up to you.

In the past and future, forever existing in three-dimensional time, the average spiritual virtue of conscious beings once was and will again become much more highly developed than it is now. In those times, average individual conscious beings communicate with each other by the speed-of-light transmission of mental images formed in the individual fields of finite reality by a process that can best be described as the sending and receiving of integrated forms of the complete continuum of energies radiating from objects existing in reality. That spectrum includes the quantized energy frequencies that are received through the five physical senses. The perceptions of light, sound, taste, touch, and smell that we associate with specific objects are relatively small fragments of the total perception that is possible for an individual whose consciousness is fully expanded.

When we realize that the gifts of conscious self-awareness and freewill that were bestowed on our ancestors and passed down to us in our DNA make it possible that by choosing wisely, we can eventually become sufficiently advanced physically, mentally, and spiritually to be able to receive and re-create multi-dimensional images accurately reflecting the manifold forms existing in reality and transmit them as meaningful thought forms to other conscious beings, we will be motivated to do everything we can to accelerate the expansion of consciousness. Currently, however, the average individual is effectively imprisoned in a physical body, with perceptions of objective reality fragmented by the quantum mechanical processes of the physical sense organs, and consequently, limited almost completely to indirect interactions with reality and with other conscious beings. Communication of our thoughts is further limited by the uncertainties of language, illogical expression, and the confusion of spoken and written words.

In this post, I am trying to explain some very subtle, complex concepts in terms that anyone can understand. What makes this more challenging than it should be, is the fact that certain key words that I must use are used by others, with different educational and experiential backgrounds, to mean something slightly different than what I mean when I use them. In the context of the TDVP model, there are key words that have very specific meanings, so I must define them as clearly as I can. They are sometimes used in contemporary society in vague and confusing ways. For example, we often hear the word “dimension” used instead of the correct reference, which would be “dimensional domain”.

Saying that we can “see dimensions” or that we may experience “being in another dimension” are inaccurate and improper uses of the term. Dimensions cannot be seen because, as Einstein said, space and time have no existence of their own. We can see objects that have dimensions, but we cannot see dimensions; and no one and nothing can exist in a single dimension. I have defined key words like dimension in other posts, videos, and various publications about Transcendental Physics and the CoDD, but to avoid the confusion that results from a reader thinking that key words mean something different than what I intend them to mean, I will provide the appropriate key definitions here so that you don’t have to stop to look them up elsewhere.

Reality: Everything that exists

Existence: Anything that can be experienced directly or indirectly as objectively measurable forms of mass, energy, and consciousness

Mass: The one-dimensional measure of the resistance of a real object to motion

Energy: The one-dimensional measure of the total force of  angular and/or linear momentum of a real object or system of objects

Vortex: A multi-dimensional object rotating in three or more dimensions (Plural: vortices)

[Note: Rigid physical particles cannot rotate in more than one plane at a time, but vortices can, and quantal vortices combine volumetrically, not linearly. This fact, in conjunction with the combinatorial restrictions required by Fermat’s last theorem applied to objects of three or more dimensions, limits the number of elementary vortices that can combine to form a stable complex object to three.]

Dimensions: Two-dimensional measurements of extent in space, time, and/or consciousness

Space: A three-dimensional volume created by the existence of real objects

Time: The extent of duration of events that change real objects in any way

Consciousness: The partial or complete multi-dimensional awareness of reality

Distinction: any finite form that can be distinguished from the rest of reality in any way (Synonym: conceptual object)

Manifold form: A multi-dimensional shape of three or more dimensions

Mathematics: A broad term that includes all logical forms of objective numeric, algebraic, and geometric calculation

Calculation: The process of transforming one distinct objective form into another one, that is equivalent to, but different from the original form by applying one or more of the fundamental operations of mathematical logic

Calculus: A logically consistent system of operations designed to perform mathematical calculations

The Calculus of Dimensional Distinctions (CoDD): A calculus with the basic rules of  mathematical operations re-defined for calculation in the arithmetic, algebra, and geometry of multi-dimensional distinctions based on the measurable physical characteristics of the electron.

The Origin of Logic and the Structure of Reality

Pure mathematical logic arises in human thought as a reflection of the innate structure of a primary form of consciousness existing in all of physical reality, including in the physical structure of our brains. Because of this, a system of mathematical logic using the mass and volume of the smallest and most elementary stable object in the universe, the free electron, as the basic unit of quantum measurement, is arguably the most appropriate calculus we could possibly use to analyze the quantized reality of the physical universe. That is exactly what the Calculus of Dimensional Distinctions (CoDD), mentioned so often in these posts, is. Application of this calculus to analyze the physical combination of two up quarks and one down quark combining to form a proton, the building block of the stable structure of the physical universe, was the logical place to start, and that application led directly to the discovery of gimmel, the organizing factor conveying the logical structure of Primary Consciousness into physical form at the quantum level of atomic structure.

Mass, Energy, Space, Time, and Gimmel

The next logical step after the analysis of the proton and the discovery of the existence of gimmel, was a CoDD analysis of the simplest atom, the hydrogen atom, which consists of one electron and one proton. What that analysis and subsequent applications of CoDD analysis to the atoms of the periodic table reveals about the nature of reality and the relationship between physical reality and consciousness was simply amazing! More than fifty problems and paradoxes unresolved in the standard model of particle physics were resolved by the discovery of the existence of gimmel. Most of the results of the CoDD analyses have been published in journal articles, blogposts, and books. Lists of dozens of relevant references in the blogsite archives can be accessed by searching for references on the opening page of this blog, and a few of the most relevant are listed at the end of this post. The results of applying the quantum calculus, sometimes called TRUE analysis in the references, agree exactly, or within measurement error, with experimental data and with the conclusions of prominent paradigm breakers like Max Planck and Albert Einstein.

In the last appendix added to the last edition of Einstein’s little book, Relativity, the Special and the General Theory, in which he provided “a clear explanation that anyone can understand” in 1952, less than three years before he died in 1955, he concluded that space and time have no physical existence of their own. Applications of the CoDD confirm this conclusion, but it is also true that measurement of the spatial and temporal dimensions of physical objects and events creates the illusions of space and time and reveals the structure of the manifold forms of objective reality.

Like space and time, gimmel has no mass or energy, but the existence of specific calculable volumes of gimmel in the protons, neutrons, and electron shells of atoms, explains why the measured mass of atoms that form the physical universe is always greater than the combined mass of the quarks and electrons that are in them. It is because when gimmel expands the spacetime volume of atomic structure to make the atoms stable, it increases the total angular momentum of each atom, which also increases the total mass revealed in experimental data. In this way, gimmel creates the space, time, mass, and energy that counteracts the losses of mass and energy that would otherwise occur due to the vortical expansion of the physical universe.

The existence of gimmel in the vortices of the nuclei and the electron energy shells not only fine tunes the physical structure of atoms to make them symmetric, but it also balances them magnetically and electrically. This internal self-contained stability created by the existence of gimmel in atomic sub-structure eliminates the need for phantom particles that impart mass and create mysterious forces to hold the atom together. Without gimmel, there would be no stable atomic structure, and the expansion of the universe toward infinity would accelerate causing reality to approach a state of  maximum entropy in nano seconds, after which there would be no objective reality.

I developed a formal proof of the existence of a non-physical third form of reality linking quantized matter and non-quantum receptors in consciousness in 1995 and displayed it as a poster presentation in 1996 at the Tucson II Toward a Science of Consciousness Conference at the University of Arizona, and published it in Transcendental Physics, Paradigm Press, Jackson Missouri in 1997, but that original proof was expressed in the notation of a precursor of the current form of CoDD that almost no one in mainstream science wanted to try to understand. With the help and encouragement of one who did, world-renowned polymath Dr. Vernon Neppe, a conventional mathematical proof of the existence of the third form of the essence of reality was published in the book Reality Begins with Consciousness in 2015, and it was while preparing to write this book that we decided to call the third form of reality gimmel.

Gimmel Provides More Answers

After a couple of years of additional research and analysis, I realized that gimmel is empirical evidence of a primary form of consciousness conveying logical structure into physical reality at the quantum level by organizing elementary vortices in the infinitely continuous field of reality to form stable atoms. Thus, gimmel is the long-sought-after link between mind and matter. Discovery of gimmel and its role in creating and maintaining stable atomic structure is evidence of the existence and stabilizing impact of a primary form of consciousness in every atom of the physical universe. Discovering the patterns of gimmel in every atom of the universe is like finding the fingerprints of God all over the reality he created!

The existence of gimmel also answers the question that Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz posed more than 300 years ago. He considered this question to be the most important question that science could ever hope to answer when he asked: “Why is there something rather than nothing?” The answer is that there is something rather than nothing because the existence of gimmel makes the stable existence of atomic mass and energy and the measurable dimensions of space and time possible. Furthermore, application of the CoDD to the formation of protons proved that gimmel had to exist before the formation of any stable atomic structure could occur. The prior and continuing existence of gimmel, imprinting the logical structures of consciousness on physical reality, tells us that there was no beginning and can be no end to the existence of physical reality. The forms of reality are continually changing in logical cause-and-effect ways that can be discovered with a sufficiently advanced form of analysis, but the total essence of reality will always exist, in some form.

The inescapable conclusion is that there has always been something; and, consistent with the law of conservation of matter and energy, which must also apply to gimmel, since mass and energy cannot exist without gimmel, there never was, is not, and never will be a state of absolute nothingness. In plain English, there is no such thing as nothing. But, because nothing is, by definition, the absence of something, we have fallen into the mistake of thinking of zero as representing the existence of nothingness. In applications of the CoDD, we see that any that concept that can only be represented as one-dimensional is only conceptual, and not part of objective reality. Zero is a one-dimensional concept indicating the absence of a finite localized subset of objects, not a state of absolute nothingness.

The Quantum Calculus

Setting the basic unit of quantum measurement equal to the mass and volume of the smallest stable energy vortex, which happens to be the free electron, normalized by the quantized nature of reality, and using it as the primary naturalized unit of quantum equivalence, which I call the Triadic Rotational Unit of equivalence (TRUE), ties the CoDD existentially to objective reality. Because of this link to existence, in application, the CoDD is capable of distinguishing a construct of mathematical symbolism that does not actually exist, from those that do. In this way, gimmel logically distinguishes reality from conceptual fantasy.  The process of  adapting a calculus to logic, was developed by G. Spencer Brown in his book Laws of Form. Providing a detailed explanation of that process is beyond the scope of this post, but is worth mentioning here because, to my knowledge, no one else had done this before Brown did in 1962, or since I first did it1989, when I applied the CoDD adapted for logic to several logical paradoxes in physics, and published the results in Infinite Continuity, unfortunately, currently out of print.

Logical Systems and Personal Conceptual Models

Most of us think that what we believe is firmly rooted in reality, but when belief systems are analyzed and traced back to their most fundamental concepts, we find that the basic ideas about reality upon which they are built, are often unproved and/or temporarily unprovable assumptions or beliefs about the nature of reality. Your brain creates conceptual models of reality from data input from the senses during conscious experiences of interactions with the environment as a critical part of physical survival mechanisms. These models are stored in special brain cells modified for that purpose and kept handy for quick reference.

Our personal models of reality are continuously modified, especially when we are young, learning by pain of trial and error about things in the external environment that are dangerous, like hot stoves, venomous snakes, etc. New sensual input is continually compared with relevant details in the conceptual model stored in our brain cells, as our personal model of reality is formed. Because of the importance this model has for our physical survival, it is locked in and accepted by our conscious minds as identical with reality itself. By the time our physical bodies have matured, these models and especially the assumptions buried deep within them, are almost impossible to change.

So, we see that our individual belief systems are based on our conceptual models of reality, not necessarily on what actually exists. We experience reality in a very indirect and fragmented way through the physical senses and given the way beliefs are formed and/or adopted, an individual conscious being’s belief system, regardless of how logical and well thought out it may be, may not reflect what actually exists. When properly analyzed using the CoDD, we find that one or more of the underlying a priori assumptions about the nature of reality in many, if not most belief systems are incorrect. If we want to advance spiritually, we have to find a way to correct our erroneous a priori assumptions and move on into the new domain of reality that becomes available to us in the expanded reality of a new paradigm.

The Purpose

I have written much about logical systems, conceptual models, and the CoDD because of the important role they played in the discovery of gimmel and the important role I believe the CoDD will play in the science of the future. I also believe that, because the calculus made the discovery of gimmel possible, a basic understanding of it should help readers to understand TDVP. But it is even more important as part a conceptual foundation preparing the reader to see that it is possible to accelerate the expansion of individual consciousness. This is the existential core of the message coming through my meditations, and the reason that I am inspired to write. I keep writing because I know that a verbal explanation, no matter how good, can always be better, and I know that I am just a conduit conveying ideas as best I can, not the source, and the source is available to everyone, so, even if I never write another word, someone will pick up the thread and be blessed and/or burdened to receive even more detail than I have. Infinity is a deep well.

I know that this blogpost is already too long, but I am not going to apologize for that because the subject I am trying to cover is wide and deep, and Like Albert Einstein, I sincerely want to provide a clear explanation that anyone can understand. Analytical details, from the logic of CoDD to its application and results, are already available in some form in previous posts and publications, so, for now, I am going to forego describing any more details to connect the dots, and try to make a multi-dimensional quantum leap. Ultimately, my job is not just to teach people how to do math and understand the science, my real mission is to teach you how to expand your consciousness and re-connect with Primary Consciousness and the ultimate experience.

Love is The Ultimate Experience

Love is the most wonderful example of infinity. It resolves all opposites. Pure love is infinitely patient, because the essence of Primary Consciousness (God, if you want to think of it that way) is Love, and in love, everything exists exactly as it is supposed to exist. When you are on the ultimate spiritual path, there are no accidents. Your existence at this place and time is no accident. You are not the result of the accidental sticking together of random bits of matter, define by some as debris flying away from an unexplainable explosion billions of years ago. You are something special. Every atom in every cell of your physical body has a specific number of TRUE organizing units of gimmel embedded in it. Every speck of dirt in the universe has millions of organizing units of gimmel. Without them, the logic and structure of the reality being studied by science, and the scientists themselves, would not exist.

It was no accident that my brilliant research partner, Dr. Vernon Neppe, and I happened to be in Amsterdam on the same day to meet in person for the first time, with prior planning on our part. It was no accident that I had a near death experience a week later in the Great Pyramid of Egypt. Ten years later, it was no accident that I stayed longer than planned in Romania. It is no accident when we fall in love. When we realize that the real essence of existence is Love, we fall in love with reality and we know that even the lowliest form of existence is a manifestation of Love, the pure essence of reality, with infinite purpose and meaning, and we know that everything is exactly as it is supposed to be.

The story of your life is already written. The Author of that story knows exactly what you need at every point in your journey to grow spiritually as fast as you possibly can. Everything is provided for that reality. All you need do is choose to re-connect with Primary Consciousness to become Love itself. The final paradox to be resolved is the conundrum that even though, from your point of view as a sentient being, you have the free will to choose, the One whose consciousness is everything, knows what choice you will make, because that One’s time is three-dimensional. In the re-revolving nine-dimensional reality of the cosmos, every event of the past, present, and future already exists.

THE MIRROR OF CONSCIOUSNESS

THE DREAM WEAVER AND THE MIRROR

What do you see when you look into the mirror upon waking up each morning? Do you see a façade hiding the real you, or do you see the state of your soul? What does one see upon looking into the depths of one’s heart when approaching the end of a life? Has one learned anything? Your progress and the state of your soul are reflected in your face and in your heart. You are a work in progress.

Whatever you see, it is what you have constructed for yourself. The substance from which you have constructed it is pure consciousness. That is the same for everyone; and, likewise, when we have become what we are being created to be, we are again equal, this is the way in which all human beings are created equal. It is blatantly obvious that we are not equal in every way in this world. We are not physically, mentally, and spiritually equal at any given point in life. We are all part of a work in progress.

So think carefully about what you are creating, and chose well: Don’t choose to create a place where malevolent thoughts lurk in the darkness of a hovel of depravity, dissipation, and defeat. Create within your consciousness, a temple of love and light, a palace for the Infinite, an edifice of brilliance, victory, transformation, and transcendence, because the world of your conscious construction is your home as long as you are a work in progress.

For analogy, think of the world as the canvas, and your actions as brush strokes, and the painting as the soul you are creating. Eventually, you must realize that you are the canvas, the brush, the paints, and the painter. But for the time being, the inescapable now, you are a work in progress.

Your consciousness is like a reflection of the moon on the surface of a pool of water, the slightest breeze ruffles and distorts it. It is only when you still the pool deep within your heart, that you can begin to see the real image. And that is just the first step on the journey of a million spiritual miles, to not only see a clear image, but to find the source of the image, the moon, the sun, the universe, the cosmos - and beyond. You are a work in progress.

You are the Dream Weaver. You will eventually learn that you are not just the fleeting persona that you have created through your actions and reactions, whether it has taken one or many lives in this and other worlds to create, you are the Reality behind your consciousness at any and every point in the process. Only when you realize this, will you fully understand that time and space are illusions. Space-time, as Einstein showed us, is not a universal framework within which everything happens, as it seems, it is just a reflection on the illusory surface of the pool of consciousness, an interface between your finite consciousness, that which you pretend to be, and the Infinitely Continuous Reality from which you have consciously separated yourself. It is malleable and insubstantial. It is an illusion reflecting the image of a work in progress.

If you feel proud or angry, or uncomfortable, or disappointed; perhaps even ashamed of what you think you are, remember that you have created what you are yourself, and that you can change it within the bounds of the laws of nature, if you want to. Recall that you are potentially perfect. You are a work in progress.

At some point, you may come to realize that there is nothing to be concerned about. Reality, and everything within it, is evolving according to universal laws, whether we are aware of them or not. At any point, the universe, and your experience of it, are exactly what they are supposed to be. Whether you know it or not, the universe is evolving toward an unimaginable goal, through a series of necessary steps, whether you know it or not. The universe is a work in progress.

If you just came into being when your body formed in your mother’s womb, you are a rarity. Most of us have been around much longer than that. The biggest secret of all, in this world - a secret willfully hidden and passively accepted - is the fact that we are immortal souls. We are born and die again and again, with memories of many lives and many loves, that fade like dreams in the harsh light of this life, as we embark upon another opportunity to be a work in  progress.

There is considerable shock and trauma when your soul is being born into, and confined in, a helpless little body, and after a while expelled from a sick and dying body, as the stuff of which that body is made is destroyed, or begins to decay and be recycled. That is what causes most of the forgetfulness. Most of the superficial details of the persona associated with a given body effectively dies with the brain cells of that body, but the lessons of the spirit remain with the soul to become the core of the next cycle of your work in progress.

For now, many, if not most of us, are enthralled with the drama of life on this planet. It is a captivating story, and even the misery and suffering of physical life, providing contrast, as it does, with the joy and ecstasy natural to Spiritual existence, are endurable. In fact, in my experience, the worse the suffering, the greater the joy of winning victory over that pain, against all odds! And once we realize that every new victory can be greater and more important than the last, we actually enjoy the drama of being a work in progress.

However, if we eventually tire of the endless cycles of physical reality, and begin to want to transcend the cycles of birth and death, of alternating pleasure and pain, then we begin to identify more and more with the eternal spiritual reality at the core of our existence, and less and less with the physical, mental, and astral personas of the ever-changing reflections on the surfaces of Reality. If we can see that the most important lesson to be learned is how to be truly free, and that the goal of existence is to wake from the dreams of our own making, then our lives will be transformed, the work in progress will be on its way to completion, and you, the Dream Weaver, will at last transcend your dreams.

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF GIMMEL

REFLECTING ON THE DISCOVERYOF GIMMEL

So I have used the logic and principles of mathematics and physics to prove that there is a part of reality at the quantum level that is neither matter nor energy, and furthermore, that it had to exist prior to the formation of even one single stable atom of the physical universe. So what? What is the practical significance of the discovery of this non-physical part of reality, and why do we call it gimmel?

Let’s take the easy question first. Why did we decide to call it “gimmel”? There were several reasons. First, we had to call it something less wordy than “the heretofore unknown something that cannot be mass or energy, and yet has to exist for protons and all hadronic atoms to be stable”! And second, every letter of the English and Greek alphabets have already been used for multiple things in math and physics. Third, it fits! The necessary something discovered to exist in all stable atomic structures is, after mass and energy, the third substantial measurable thing in quantum combinations, and gimmel is the third letter of the Hebrew alphabet. It also happens that gimmel has several interesting meanings in the original language that also happen to be fitting.

You can find the following explanations of the meaning of gimmel in Wikipedia: The word gimel is derived from the word gemul, which in Hebrew means both the giving of reward as well as the giving of punishment. In the Torah, both reward and punishment have the same ultimate aim, and that is rectification as preparation of the soul to receive God’s light to the fullest extent. Also, the pictograph for Gimmel is the camel, and as such, it represents transportation between two points, or a bridge between two realities, that of the physical world and the spiritual world. Very fitting!

Now let’s tackle the harder question: What is the practical significance of the discovery of this non-physical part of reality?  Your acceptance or rejection of my answer will probably depend on what you consider to be practical. To the destitute, practicality is whatever it takes to eke out one’s existence and survive, i.e., obtaining food and shelter from wild animals, insects, and the elements. For the wealthy, practicality is what it takes to maintain wealth for personal comfort and ease, and perhaps for the future of the family. But for the vast majority of us, our experience of life is a mixture of struggle and occasional periods of relative comfort and ease, but, all too often, just when we achieve enough prosperity to be able to enjoy life, we get sick and die. Eventually, we must take a break from the mad scramble of life, pause, and ask: Is there any meaning or purpose behind all of this? Is it really worth it? The practical significance of the discovery of gimmel relates to answering these important questions.

In the past, answers to questions about the meaning of life have largely depended upon a person’s belief system, either adopted from a religion handed down from those considered to be the authorities, or from family tradition. But belief borrowed from someone else is not very satisfying for anyone with an inquiring mind. And, unfortunately, organized religions, just like any form of organized social management or government, have a history of establishing its authority for the purpose of controlling people not enlightening them.

What if you did not have to rely on blind faith in the meaning and purpose of life, something to be revealed sometime in the distant future, and hope for miraculous events to prove that there is something beyond the material world that justifies your faith? What if you had scientific evidence that there is a real connection between mind and matter? What if there were indisputable scientific evidence of a non-physical part of reality that has created the necessary circumstances and guided the development of physical organisms capable of supporting life and becoming vehicles for intelligent consciousness? I am pleased to be able to report that such indisputable evidence has been discovered. It is called gimmel, and its discovery proves that there has to be a pre-existing intelligence that has always been here, behind the ever-changing scenes of the physical universe. Such a discovery is the beginning of a new scientific paradigm that will change the world forever. Materialism is no longer a valid metaphysical belief system. There is meaning and purpose to life and the physical universe. And that is the practical significance of the discovery of gimmel.

ANSWERS TO THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTIONS

THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTIONS

With the answer to the question: “Where did everything come from?” and the TDVP inclusion of quantum field theory (QFT) mentioned in my last post, we have the basis for explaining virtually everything about the physical universe, and are now ready to answer the even more important questions: questions that relate to the rest of existence, beyond the approximately 4.9% of the cosmos that comprises the physical aspects of reality.

To summarize the last post, “where did everything come from?”: Everything has always been there/here in some form. There is no evidence to support the idea that everything arose from nothing, or is dissolving into nothing. There is no absolute beginning or end, only change that happens in conformance with a system of logic that we call the laws of nature. The idea of nothingness comes from the mistaken concept of the absence of something; but there is no evidence that the stuff of reality has ever been absent. In fact, the law of the conservation of the substance of reality (an extension of the law of the conservation of mass and energy) excludes that possibility. Therefore nothingness is an illusion, and, like space and time, has no existence of its own. There is not, never has been, and never can be a state of absolute nothingness. It is now clear that nothing does not exist.

We are now able to answer the more important questions of existence, including: What is consciousness? What is Life? Why and how does it arise? And what is the meaning of life and the purpose of existence? These are questions that are of utmost importance to us as human beings, but that cannot be answered from within the logic of physical theory. These questions are examples of logical questions that cannot be answered within the axiomatic system within which they have been formulated. The fact that such meaningful questions do exist was proved by mathematician Kurt Gödel in what is known as GÓ§del’s Incompleteness Theorems. Because of the quantization of the stuff of physical reality (mass and energy), the logical structure of the physical universe is finite, and a finite logical system can be investigated using an axiomatic basis and deductive reasoning. The cosmos, however, is far more extensive than the physical universe. The cosmos is actually infinite, as can be demonstrated by the mathematical process of dimensional extrapolation. [An n-dimensional domain can only be observed from an (n+1)-dimensional domain.]

The logical structure of the physical universe is embedded in the infinite cosmos, and the logic of integral number theory reflects and/or is reflected in the structure of the cosmos. Without further ado, I will present the answers to these most important questions, as revealed by the Calculus of Distinctions of the Triadic Dimensional Vortical Paradigm (TDVP).

What is Consciousness?
Consciousness is Primary. It contains within it the logical structure of the cosmos. It is infinite, and everything arises from it. Consciousness cannot, therefore, be unambiguously defined in terms of finite words or forms because such words and forms will always be contained within it.

What is Life?
Life is the manifestation of the logical structure of consciousness in the mass, energy and gimmel of the physical universe. Gimmel, the non-physical aspect of structure, is the organizing principle that allows matter and energy to reflect the logic of pure consciousness.

How and Why does Life arise?
The emergence of living organisms is as inevitable as the existence of quarks, protons, electrons, neutrons, and the atoms of the periodic table. Their forms are dictated by gimmel, just as the structures of elementary particles are. The different life forms reflect the range of logical possibilities existing in the structure of Primary Consciousness. The answer to why they arise lies in the nature of the logical structure of Primary consciousness.
What is the Meaning and Purpose of Life and Existence?
The meaning and purpose of the existence of finite organic life forms and individualized consciousness on this planet, and elsewhere, is the reproduction of Primary Consciousness. If you can think of Primary Consciousness beyond names and forms as God, then you are God in the making. Life and conscious experience are the processes by which this is accomplished.

A LETTER TO SKEPTICS ON TIME AND PURPOSE

ON THE IMPORTANCE OF TIME AND PURPOSE

Time is important to every one of us. Whatever your goal or mission is, even if it is just to find happiness in this lifetime, time is of the utmost importance. My goal, my mission, if you will, in this lifetime, is to do everything I can to bring science, which is humanity’s effort to know Reality, out of the stifling dark ages of materialism. I am very thankful for those who resonate and align with me in this effort. But, increasingly, I do not have time for those who just want to discuss, deny and obstruct.

The following message is directed to anyone reading my posts on this site, my books, or the several books by others of like mind, including Drs. Vernon Neppe, Stanley Krippner, Deepak Chopra, Charles Tart, Gary Schwartz, Dean Radin, Imants Baruss, Marjorie Woolacott, Julia Mossbridge, Mario Beauregard, Lisa Miller, Diane Powell, Menas Kafatos, Rupert Shelldrake, Stephan Schwartz, and others. It is especially intended for those who are upset or angered by what I write and want to defend materialism and/or atheism as viable belief systems. Skepticism is encouraged, close-minded materialism is not.

Dear skeptic, I want to be completely honest with you, and hope that you will reciprocate. I have spent a lot of time over the past 60 plus years, since earning my first degree in mathematics and physics, debating with colleagues who have strong backgrounds in physics and other science disciplines. Some such discussions have been very productive, some have been a great waste of time. I am currently in my 82nd year on this planet in this lifetime, so time is increasingly important to me. Consequently, I have no desire to spend my time trying to convince someone who will never be convinced.

Having had discussions with literally hundreds of colleagues, some continuing for several years, I have learned that there is a basic difference between those with whom I have had productive discussions and those with whom it was a waste of time. The difference is one of basic metaphysical belief. It is a waste of my time to argue with anyone who has an adamant materialistic belief system and is unwilling, or unable to think outside of that box. I know from direct experience that there is much more to reality than matter and energy interacting in space and time, and any real “theory of everything” must contain consciousness and spiritual reality as real components, in addition to mass, energy, space and time.

If it is the case that your belief system does not allow you to consider anything beyond the limiting box of materialism, then I suspect that no matter how many peer-reviewed papers I direct you to, or how many people with PhD degrees in math and physics have endorsed some or all of our work, you will not be convinced. Please be honest with me. If this is your position, it is better that we just agree to disagree and get on with our lives. Or, if you are genuinely interested in the work that Dr. Neppe, the one-dozen plus scientists of the Academy for the Advancement of Postmaterialist Sciences and I are engaged in, then we can proceed.

Sincerely, Edward R. Close, PhD, PE, DISPE, Distinguished Fellow ECAO.

TRIADIC REALITY EXPLAINED

THE TRIADIC NATURE OF REALITY
A CLEAR EXPLANATION THAT ANYONE CAN UNDERSTAND
© Edward R. Close, 2016

Toward the end of his life, Albert Einstein published a little book entitled:“RELATIVITY, the Special and General Theory, a clear explanation that anyone can understand”.

Of course, not everyone did, and most still haven’t.

I’m quite sure that Albert did not expect everyone to understand it. Please note that he said that anyone can understand it, not that everyone would.

He talked about measurement, and how the relative nature of physical objects could be described in terms of the geometry of four dimensions. In his final note to the fifteenth edition of the little book, he suggested that space-time is a property of physical objects, and does not exist as a separate, unchanging backdrop to the drama of events, as our sense data leads us to believe. He suggested that in a four-dimensional reality, “the concept of ‘empty space’ loses its meaning”. Clearly, the concept of empty time also loses its meaning; there simply is no such thing as time without events.

In the previous post, I explained how the great minds of science concluded that the finite concept of matter, energy, space, time, and separation are illusions. In this post, I shall attempt to explain, in terms that ‘anyone can understand’ how the extension of the theories of quantum physics and relativity into descriptive dimensional domains beyond the four of space-time reveals the true nature of reality. We (Dr. Neppe and I) call this the Triadic Dimensional Vortical Paradigm (TDVP).

THE LOGIC OF MATHEMATICS REFLECTS REALITY
In the previous post I told you what I know about the illusion presented to us by the brain’s interpretation of the data it receives from the limited physical senses. But I can do much more than just quote the opinions of great scientists of the past. I can explain how I know about this illusion by describing the logic of the mathematics that reflects Reality.

The mathematics being applied by scientists operating in the current paradigm does not accurately reflect reality. It is based on the 300 year-old calculus of Newton and Leibniz, which is inappropriate for describing a quantized reality. Why is ‘the calculus’ which served us so well before the shifts of relativity and quantum physics now suddenly inappropriate? Because it is based on the mistaken idea that the variables of measurement can approach zero infinitely closely. But this simply cannot be the case in a quantized world.

The infinitesimals of the calculus of Newton and Leibniz must be replaced by the quantum, which is exceedingly small, but finite, providing the bottom of the infinite descent of the division of the variables of measurement. The calculus of Newton works for most measured variables only because the quantum is so very small relative to our limited ability to observe and measure. Replacement of the calculus of Newton and Leibniz with the Calculus of Distinctions became necessary the moment Max Planck discovered that the physical universe is a quantum universe. While Planck units, based on five universal constants, greatly simplifiy calculations, they are not truly quantum units. So, how do we define true quantum units?

A very much under-appreciated modern thinker, George Spencer Brown, stated in his book “Laws of Form” that “…a universe comes into being when a space is severed or taken apart”. This is the basis of his ‘calculus of indications’ which I expanded and modified for application to quantum physics in the 1980s. I called this expanded calculus the Calculus of Distinctions, with the unitary distinction defined as the smallest possible quantum entity.

The basic unit of measurement adopted for this calculus is the smallest possible space-time-mass-energy equivalence unit, the true quantum unit. When this was done, puzzles and paradoxes of quantum mechanics and relativity were surprisingly easily explained.

Many of these explanations have been peer reviewed and published, and have been described in posts on this blog. A number of applications of the Calculus of Distinctions to physical problems that I produced during the period from 1986 to 1989 were published in a book entitled “Infinite Continuity” in 1990. For example, when the Calculus of Distinctions is applied to the red-shift expanding universe, a contradiction is found, and this contradiction is resolved only when it is shown that the red shift is not actually due to relative motion, and that the observed constant speed of light is a result of the limitations of the physical senses. In short, application of the Calculus of Distinctions proves that the big-bang expanding universe is an illusion.

THE TDVP PARADIGM SHIFT
So, if space, time, matter, energy, and separation are illusions, then is nothing real? Is it all imagination, all in our minds? To think so would be a misinterpretation of the words of Newton, Planck, Einstein, and SchrÓ§dinger mentioned in the previous post. As much as I object to statements declaring that quantum physics is weird and cannot be explained in terms that can be understood by anyone, statements made by several famous physicists, including Niels Bohr, Erwin SchrÓ§dinger and Richard Feynman and then echoed again and again, by nearly all mainstream scientists, I do agree with what Richard Feynman said when asked about a certain quantum physics fact. He said that “If we can’t explain it so that a freshman student can understand it, then we really don’t understand it!” I would even amplify this to say that if we can’t explain a new idea so that the average person can understand it, we really don’t understand it.

But what if a new idea lies outside the current understanding of science, i.e. outside the current mainstream scientific paradigm? Can we explain it so that a scientist with vested interest in the existing paradigm can understand it? I believe we can, and not only that, since a scientist working within the current paradigm is really no different than anyone else with respect to a new idea that lies outside the paradigm, if we really understand the idea, we should be able to explain it so anyone can understand it.

TDVP is a paradigm shift in very much the same way relativity and quantum physics were paradigm shifts. In Einstein’s relativity as well as Bohr and Heisenberg’s quantum mechanics, the shifts were to relative space-time and quantized mass-energy, respectively. In TDVP, the shift is to a consciousness-based understanding of the nature of reality.

The various discoveries and explanations of phenomena and empirical data coming after, and still being produced by the relativistic and quantum paradigm shifts, are not paradigm shifts by themselves, but the results of paradigm shifts. Similarly, new ideas and explanations produced by TDVP of previously unexplained phenomena are results of the paradigm shift not paradigm shifts in and of themselves. But, exactly how does TDVP achieve the shift to a consciousness-based understanding of reality?

To answer this question, I must begin at the beginning, and the beginning of my understanding of the TDVP shift was brought about by application of the Calculus of Distinctions to quantum mechanics and particle physics. Clearly, this presents me with a unique challenge: How do I explain the TDVP paradigm shift without getting into the complex details of the mathematical derivation and application of the Calculus of Distinctions, involving algebraic, numerical and geometrical demonstrations and proofs, during which I would most likely lose most of my readers?

I believe I can do it by telling my story in descriptive, rather than mathematical terms. For those who may want to see the mathematical demonstrations and proofs, they exist in a number of published and unpublished papers, and will be further expanded, demonstrated and applied in future publications.

WAKING FROM THE ILLUSION OF MATTER TO CONSCIOUS REALITY
In this discussion, I will try to do something that, so far as I am aware, is almost never done in technical presentations: I will try to avoid referring to abstract mathematical concepts and procedures. Instead, I will describe the major features of TDVP in descriptive, straight-forward concrete terms as much as I can.

We know now that it is an indisputable fact that we live in a quantized world. What does this mean? It means that all of the substances of reality occur, and can only occur, in multiples of a very small, but finite amount. This very smallest amount may have many properties, but we are only going to talk about its three most basic properties right now: the property of occupying a minimum volume, the property of maximum accelerated rotation or spin, and the property of combination.

The minimum possible volume is defined by applying the principles of relativity and quantum mechanics to the free electron stripped from the electron shell of a Hydrogen atom. Why the electron? Because the electron has the smallest mass of any of the elementary particles making up the stable atoms that comprise the universe we experience.

When the mass and energy of the electron is no longer held in stable rotation around the nucleus of the Hydrogen atom, it begins to contract, causing it to spin faster and faster, similar to the way a spinning skater’s spin speeds up as she pulls her arms in. If the spin could exceed the speed of light, the volume occupied by the free-spinning electron could go to zero, but Einstein’s relativity tells us that the velocity of the spin cannot exceed the speed of light. Thus the smallest possible volume is finite; that is to say, greater than zero. This minimum mass-energy equivalence volume is the absolute ‘bottom’ of infinite descent, and is defined in TDVP as one unit, the true quantum unit. Planck’s discovery requires that all elementary particles must be comprised of whole-number multiples of this absolute minimum unit.

When this unit is used to describe the elementary particles that combine to form the stable Hydrogen atom, we find that a third substance, not measurable as mass of energy, must be present for the Hydrogen to be stable. This is why we call the true quantum unit the Triadic Rotational unit of equivalence (TRUE).

I’ve described how the properties of minimum volume and maximum spin are defined by combining the principles of relativity and quantum physics; what about the combination of elementary particles, multiples of the TRUE quantum unit, to form atoms?

In the current particle physics paradigm, measurable electric, magnetic and gravitational forces and secondary particles called ‘gluons’ are assumed to be what holds the elementary particles that make up atoms together. In fact, these measurable forces are measurable result of the symmetric combination of the spinning elementary entities. A clue to this combinational symmetry is the fact that quarks only combine in threes to form protons and neutrons.

Application of a famous mathematical theorem known as Fermat’s Last Theorem to the combination of two symmetrically spinning particles explains why two symmetric particles cannot combine volumetrically to form a new symmetric entity. On the other hand, combining three symmetric entities can produce a stable, symmetrically spinning object. Mathematically, this result is obtained by solving the whole-number equation (what mathematicians call a Diophantine equation) describing the combination of three symmetrically spinning particles volumetrically. But these integer solutions are only possible if there is a third form of the substance of reality not measurable as mass or energy. We call this third form ‘gimmel’.

Recognition of the existence of this third non-material form, and determination of the specific amounts of it mathematically required for symmetry in the elementary particles that make up the structures of the physical universe, explains the stability of the Hydrogen atom, the most abundant element. It turns out that the stability of the life-supporting elements exceeds that of other elements, explaining why life is persistent and abundant in the universe.

The presence of gimmel explains the ‘strange attractors’ found in chaos theory, and replaces the randomness of chaos theory with a theory with meaning and purpose. The presence of gimmel also explains the effects of what is erroneously called ‘dark matter’ and ‘dark energy’ in the current paradigm. Ultimately, with TDVP, we demonstrate that it is conscious meaning and purpose that drives the universe, not randomness and chaos.

A family of simple combinatorial Diophantine (integer) equations, which I call the conveyance equations, describes the conveyance of the logic of a primary form of consciousness, the conscious substrate of reality, to the 3S-1t dimensional domain available for observation with our limited physical senses and extensions of them.

With the comprehensive framework of TDVP, expanded to include consciousness in the form of gimmel, we are able to explain many things inexplicable in the current materialistic paradigm. Examples that have been published so far include explanations of the triadic combinations of quarks, the intrinsic ½ spin of fermions (the particles that make up the universe we experience), the exact value of the Cabibbo quark mixing angle in the Large Hadron Collider data, the abundance of life-supporting data, and the existence of so-called dark matter and dark energy. This is just the ‘tip of the iceberg’, more explanations are forthcoming.

The fact that the TDVP model of reality, consisting of nine finite dimensions of extent and three forms of content, mass, energy and consciousness, explains so many empirical observations so simply, speaks strongly to the value of replacing the current materialistic paradigm with the consciousness-based paradigm of TDVP.
