RE-IMAGINING REALITY

 


CAN YOU RE-IMAGINE REALITY?

There’s a lot of talk these days about re-imagining things, like re-imagining the meaning of words, re-imagining gender, re-imagining government, re-imagining civilization, and re-imagining life in general. But there is a problem with this: To believe that you can re-imagine reality, you have to imagine that you were the one who imagined it in the first place.

There is a kernel of truth in thinking that you might be able to re-imagine things that are difficult in your life, but trying to re-imagine something that is objectively real, something that you did not yourself imagine in the first place, is fraught with challenges and some dangers that have to do with human error and a basic mis-understanding about what time is. To try to explain what I mean by this, I will relate things that have happened to me during my lifetime that led me to the discovery of gimmel, the non-physical third form of reality, existing in addition to mass and energy.

I was born in 1936, just after the ‘great depression’ in the San Francois Mountains of Southeast Missouri, to monetarily poor descendants of European immigrants. My father was twenty-eight years old, and my mother was only nineteen when they fell in love, and all they had when they married was twenty dollars and their clothes. When my mother was a little girl, her mother made her clothes from cloth cut from flour sacks. By today’s standards, my folks were very poor, but they were rich in the traditions of rural American families who worked hard, grew their own food, and lived normal lives, close to the land and nature.  

My father, born in 1908, served four years in the US Army (1925 -1929), and he volunteered again in 1941, to serve in the Navy until the end of World War II. At the war’s end, he was a petty officer in the Amphibian Scouts and Raiders, later to be known as the Navy Seals. My mother and I traveled by train from Arcadia Missouri to Ft. Pierce Florida in the Summer of 1945, to be with him for a few days before he was transferred to Treasure Island in the San Francisco Bay to be part of the invasion of Japan that was planned to occur in November 1945, in retaliation for the Japanese surprise attack bombing of Pearl Harbor Sunday morning, December 7, 1941, killing 2,403 Americans and wounding about 1,200 more, including military personnel and civilians

The invasion of Japan never happened because of the first, and so far the only deliberate use of atomic bombs to kill human beings. Approximately 200,000 Japanese were killed by atomic blasts detonated over Hiroshima and Nagasaka Japan on August 6 and August 9, 1945. The horror of those bombings ended World War II and saved the lives of thousands of US sailors and marines, including that of my father. The military strategists planning the invasion had expected in excess of 90% casualties in the first-wave amphibian forces, because the Japanese, including nearly all civilian males, were eager to die honorable deaths defending their homeland in classic Samurai fashion.

As a pre-teen child living in the hills of Southern Missouri during WWII, I didn’t experience the horrors of the War directly, but I remember the air-raid drills, food rationing, news reels in the local movie theater, and daily radio reports very well, and things that happened to me personally during the decade of the 1940s and something that happened to me in the Great Pyramid in Egypt in 2010, caused me to think of time in a very different way than most people do. Those events included a number of out-of-body experiences (OBEs) and two near-death-experiences (NDEs) The first NDE occurred when I was struck by lightning in 1947. I have related details of my memory of those experiences in my autobiography, so I won’t take the time or space to do that again here and focus instead on the insights they gave me into the nature of time.

As I’ve reported in a number of blogposts and published books and papers, I agree with Albert Einstein, who concluded, based on the implications of general relativity, that empty space “has no claim to an existence of its own”. Similarly, time also has no claim to an existence of its own. Put another way: space has no meaning without the existence of objects, and time has no meaning without the occurrence of events. These conclusions have some far-reaching implications about the nature of reality, that I have talked about in other posts and publications, so here, I will focus only on what they reveal about the nature of time.

Time, specifically the observation and measurement of time, depends upon the functioning of consciousness in the 3-D physical domain, and consciousness, as experienced by most of us, most of the time, only allows us to perceive the one quantum of time that we think of as the present. As long as one identifies as a physical body with all of its limitations, the past is always gone, and the future is yet to come. As physical beings, part of something called “reality”, the only time we ever experience is the present in the ‘here and now’. But the gift of consciousness comes with the ability to remember the past and imagine the future, giving us the illusion of the existence of a continuous timeline. But OBEs and NDEs dispel this illusion, showing us that all things that exist, ever existed, or will ever exist are available in the eternal here and now.

For example, after my first NDE when I was an eleven-year-old, that occurred when I was struck by lightning while swimming in a creek, I began to have occasional spontaneous OBEs, during which I saw things existing beyond the quantized space-time domain of the here and now. Some of the things I saw were independently verified almost immediately after the OBEs that revealed them, while others were not verified until years later. Most of the things I saw seemed trivial and unimportant to me at the time, including even some memories of past lives. I never shared those memories with anyone until I began to realize that they were not just imaginative dreams, many years later.

In the summer of 1951, after discovering the work of Albert Einstein, I had an OBE, the impact of which assured me that I would become a scientist following in Einstein’s footsteps, and after earning degrees in mathematics, physics, and environmental science and engineering, and several years of studying consciousness, in late February and early March of 2010, sixty-three years after my first NDE, I had another one in the Great Pyramid on the Giza Plateau in Egypt. You can find more detail about this second NDE by searching for ‘The Great Pyramid’ in the archives on this blogsite, and I have shared even more detail in my autobiography.

Like my first NDE, this one also involved a discharge of electricity, but it was much more intense and traumatic than the first one. Others who were in the Pyramid near me when it happened, actually saw the discharge, and I still have a scar where it struck my forehead. I realized later that all of this was only the outer evidence of the rapid down-loading of an amazing amount of complex information that went on continually for two days.

Every time I closed my eyes, even after I was carried out of the Great Pyramid, I saw a continual flow of faces and symbols, and heard a stream of voices speaking in several different languages. This didn’t end until we were in the Ancient City of Petra in Jordan two days later. After that, I had several interesting Deja-vu experiences during the next three days on Mount Nebo where Moses died, and on the Jordan River where John baptized Jesus. A few years later, in a chance meeting with a psychic who had authored a book on Pyramid Energy, a popular subject in the 1970s, I was told that my experience in the Great Pyramid was part of a world-wide shift in human consciousness.

All of the OBEs I have had over my eighty-seven plus years, especially those that were connected with these NDEs, confirmed my conclusions about the nature of time and strengthened and deepened my understanding of the relationship of space and time to consciousness. Spatial dimensions are a sub-set of the dimensions of time, and time dimensions are a sub-set of the dimensions of consciousness, and Primary Consciousness is the infinite substrate in which all nine finite dimensional domains of space, time, and consciousness exist. What does this mean? It means that we have access, through our connection with Primary Consciousness, with all existential events, past, present, and future. It means that we are immortal souls, sleep-walking on this planet until we finally wake up to who we really are and what our purpose is!

Back home, when I continued pursuing the work on the consciousness research started in 2008 with Dr. Vernon Neppe, MD, PhD, the founder of the Pacific Institute of Neuropsychiatry, I began to understand some of the information downloaded into my brain in the Great Pyramid and see how it related to relativistic experiments with clocks and measuring devices moving at high rates of speed and quantum physics experiments like the double-slit, delayed-choice experiment. I also began to see how those experiments actually confirmed my NDE-and-OBE-based conclusions about the nature of the 9-D space-time-consciousness dimensional domain, containing the mass-energy-consciousness substance of reality.

By application of the existential quantum mathematics of the Calculus of Dimensional Distinctions (CoDD), with the natural triadic rotational units of equivalence (TRUE) defined as the basic quantum equivalence unit, I concluded that time has three dimensions, analogous to the triadic dimensionality of space, and colleagues started asking, “what are the 3 dimensions of time?” Stephen Hawking, the famous author of A Brief History of Time,  after a brief review of the early manuscript of my book Infinite Continuity, a book about reconciling relativity and quantum physics with applications of the CoDD, said: “I cannot imagine three dimensions of time!”

A common statement I heard very often, was “We know what the three dimensions of space are, but what are the three dimensions of time?” This statement is perfectly emblematic of the common mis-understanding most people have about the nature of time, a common error that I am addressing here. Most people think that they know what the three dimensions of space are. Ask anyone, and they will very likely say “length, width and depth”, or some similar expression about the measurement of things. But such an answer does not define the concept of ‘space’, it only describes an imaginary framework for measuring the geometry of objects and the distances between them.

Space, as Einstein discovered, has no existence of its own, and time is exactly the same kind of non-existent conceptual fiction as space, created for the purpose of measuring the extent of duration between observed events. The problem with this is that these conceptual fictions lead us to the belief that there is a universal ether-like space-time backdrop in which objectivity reality exists and occurs, but a uniform space-time background demonstrably does not exist. Time is not something that flows at the same rate throughout the universe. The extent of its duration depends upon the variables of relative motion and mass and energy of the object observed and that of the observer.

Space-time dimensions are simply variables of extent. My late wife Jacqui was not a university-trained mathematician, but she understood this intuitively. In the lyrics of a song that she composed in the early 1970s, while working for Frank and Nancy Sinatra Music in Nashville, she wrote: “Time is just the distance between what I am and what I shall become.”

Space-time dimensions are measured in terms of variables of extent, and they actually have no existence of their own. It is the contents of the domain they define that has substance and meaning. Space-time is non-existent without content and intent, and any description of reality that does not include all of the basic variables of content, extent, and intent, i.e., mass, energy, space, time, and consciousness, is incomplete.

The variables of extent, i.e., the variables of space, time, and individual consciousness, are dependent upon the substantial content of mass, energy, and individualized consciousness, and the intent of individual and Primary Consciousness, for meaning and purpose. The three dimensions of time are local time, planetary time, and cosmic time, but they have no existence or meaning, unless they describe the extent of events involving quanta of mass, energy, and consciousness existing in the domain they frame, and, finally, as discussed earlier, consciousness, like mass and energy, measured in quantum equivalence units of gimmel, only occurs in whole-number units.

Discovery of the mathematical proof of the existence of quantum equivalent units of gimmel, the massless organizer stabilizing every proton in existence, was intellectually satisfying from my point of view, but it raised a new persistent question that came from friends and colleagues, as well as from materialist skeptics in mainstream science. That question was: ‘Exactly what is gimmel?’ It wasn’t long before I realized how similar this question was to the question ‘What is consciousness?’

Like consciousness, gimmel cannot be defined in terms of anything else, because, just like Max Planck said, We cannot get behind consciousness”, we also cannot get behind gimmel when describing stable physical reality! So, gimmel is the measure of consciousness that exists in every proton and every electron shell, organizing every atom of every element of the periodic table! But now, a still deeper question arises: How does gimmel, the measurable aspect of consciousness, relate to the three dimensions of time? The answer to this question lies in the logic of the geometric symmetry organized by gimmel in atomic structure, individual consciousness, and the cosmos.

Returning to the statement above, declaring that the three dimensions of time are local time, planetary time, and cosmic time, let’s focus on them one at a time: Local time is what an individual soul experiences when identified with a physical body. It is based on the motions of localized biological processes. Planetary time is periodic and symmetric, based on the motion of the planet in the solar system, and cosmic time is based on the measurement of the speed of light. All of these measurements of time can be made commensurable in TRUE units by setting the speed of light equal to one.

This naturalization of the speed of light links all objective measurements of existential phenomena to TRUE, allowing us to convert all unitary systems of measurement, including Planck units and SI units, to TRUE and express the laws governing the form and substance of reality in Diophantine equations reflecting the underlying logic of Primary Consciousness. That’s why the CoDD produces so many explanations and resolutions of contradictions and paradoxes in mainstream science.

Now, we are finally ready to produce a definitive answer to the question asked in the title of this blog post: “Can we re-imagine reality?” The answer is really very simple: We can re-imagine our own subjective conceptual models of reality by changing our own a priori assumptions to be more nearly aligned with the logic of Primary Consciousness; but we cannot re-imagine existential reality. It is what it is. At the present time in planetary chronology, we have about 25% free will. The other 75% of experience is predetermined by the logic of Primary Consciousness, traditionally known as “the will of God”.

We are now 424 Earth years into the 2400-year ascending Dwapara Yuga. As we traverse the remaining 10,376 years to the next Satya Yuga, the high point of physical, mental, and spiritual virtue, when the average conscious being will be one with Primary Consciousness,  with 100% free will. THE SIMPLE MISTAKE

The Problem of Understanding Reality

Like many students of quantum mechanics in the mid nineteen seventies, I spent some time on the Caltech campus in Pasadena California in order to sit in on some of Richard Feynman’s lectures, because he was arguably one of the best physics professors of that era, and a Nobel Prize winner for his work in quantum mechanics. He was well-known for his engaging personality and his ability to explain complex concepts, but, when asked about some of the strange concepts of quantum mechanics, he said: “I believe I can safely say that no one understands quantum mechanics!”

In his book Feynman’s Lost Lecture, David Goodstein, a colleague of Richard Feynman’s wrote:

 

Feynman was a truly great teacher. He prided himself on being able to devise ways to explain even the most profound ideas to beginning students. Once, I said to him, “Dick, explain to me, so that I can understand it, why spin one-half particles obey Fermi-Dirac statistics.” Sizing up his audience perfectly, Feynman said, “I’ll prepare a freshman lecture on it.” But he came back a few days later to say, “I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t reduce it to the freshman level. That means we don’t really understand it.

For the record, it is my opinion that the “quantum weirdness” that some physicists like to talk about so much, is not an actual feature of quantum reality, but instead, the result of a flawed theory based on a simple mistake. This post is about that mistake and how it has caused science to go astray and miss the most important discovery since Max Planck and Albert Einstein.

 

The Trip of a Lifetime – And More

When I deplaned at Schiphol on a bright February day in 2010, I hurried to exchange some American dollars for Dutch currency, and boarded public transportation to go to the Downtown Amsterdam Hilton. It would be my first face-to-face meeting with Dr. Vernon Neppe, MD, PhD, after about two years of email correspondence. I was on my way to Cairo and Luxor to participate in the making of a documentary film, and Dr. Neppe and his wife Lis, were on their way to visit relatives in their native country of South Africa. It appeared that the universe had planned this meeting because neither of us knew that we were going to be in Amsterdam at the same time until the airline tickets had already been purchased. Mine were purchased by the company that invited me to participate in the filming of a documentary on the Frankincense Trail in Egypt and Jordan, and the Neppes made this journey back home, as often as Vernon’s busy schedule of  medical and research commitments allowed.

Dr. Neppe, highly respected internationally for his work in medicine, psychiatry, and neuroscience, was also a very high-ranking member of the International Society for Philosophical Enquiry (ISPE), an organization for which I proved to be qualified on the basis of IQ tests, experience, and integrity. I took the ISPE test, passed, and joined in 2008.

Dr Neppe’s background in the study of intelligence and neuroscience, mine in systems analysis and mathematical physics, plus our common interests in consciousness studies, parapsychology, and spirituality, made us perfect research partners in the new discipline of biopscychophysics. We had distinctly different scientific and cultural backgrounds, and yet, our views were generally compatible. We had both developed our own models of reality: His was called Vortex Pluralism, and mine was Transcendental Physics. The similarities were striking, and the differences were complementary.

When Vernon came down to meet me in the lobby of the hotel, I recognized him immediately, even though I had not seen a current photo. I had the feeling that I was meeting an old friend, after many years, - in this case, lifetimes. I had a nine-hour layover in Amsterdam, and we made the most of it. Vernon recorded almost every word we spoke together on a little hand-held recorder, and when the lobby became a little too noisy, we went up to their room where I met Lis. Thinking that she might resent this intrusion on their privacy, I was pleasantly surprised to be welcomed like an old friend, or perhaps even a family member, which I well may have been - in past lives.

When it was time for me to leave in order to catch my flight to Cairo, Vernon and I were still busy talking. As we walked to the nearest bus stop, we had reached the level of discussing the stable vortex called the proton and its quark constituents. Vernon remarked that there should be a way to explain why atomic nucleons (proton and neutrons) were composed of three quarks, and why no subatomic particles were ever formed from two or four, or any number of quarks other than three. I responded that I could show him exactly why that was so mathematically, and that it involved a quantum calculus I had developed, solving Diophantine equations, and Fermat’s Last Theorem. The key was in understanding the way quantum vortices combine. I proceeded trying to explain, but the bus came along too soon, and the explanation had to wait to be completed until we were both back in the US about a month later.

In the meantime, Vernon and Lis enjoyed their visit back home in South Africa, while I had some interesting experiences in Egypt and Jordan, - experiences that occurred in the dessert south of the Bent Pyramid, in the Great Pyramid on the Gisa plateau, in several ancient Egyptian temples, in the Valley of the Kings, in the Ancient City of Petra in southern Jordan, on Mount Nebo, where Moses died, and at the river Jordan, where John baptized Jesus. This was one of the most important and meaningful trips of this lifetime.

Two days after flying from Amsterdam to Cairo, I suffered a dangerous near-death experience (NDE) in the Great Pyramid and had a series of out-of-body experiences (OBEs) in Egypt and Jordan. During these startling experiences, information was rapidly downloaded from the surrounding stone structures, streaming into my brain nonstop for more than 24 hours, and it continued sporadically for three more days. Later, as some of this information resurfaced slowly, I began to see how mainstream science of the past 500 years has gone astray because of one simple mistake that has all but completely hidden a large part of reality from humanity during the dark ages of the Kali Yugas, from 701 B.C. to 1699 A.D.

The Simple Mistake and Some Clues

That simple mistake is the mistake of continuing to use binary logic, despite the fact that we now know that the basis of reality is triadic. It’s like acting as if only nouns and predicates exist and trying to form meaningful sentences without verbs. Binary logic works pretty well if we choose to deal with only two categories of variables: variables of content and variables of extent. And if we ignore the existence of organic life and consciousness and measure the variables in each category with the same kinds of units, then we can model the physical universe with no problem. But the paradoxes in the standard model of particle physics that mainstream physicists pass off as “quantum weirdness”, are clear indications that something is wrong, and the belief in materialism is also a result of the mistake. The much-needed quantum calculus (CoDD) mentioned often in previous posts, resolves these paradoxes.

It was clear to me from the beginning of my life, and even before, that the physicists’ dream of a theory of everything was an illusion, unless there was a way to include consciousness in the equations. Memories of past lives and between lives surfaced soon after the trauma of my birth wore off. They included memories from lives during which I had been a scientist and mathematician. My memories and a number of OBEs and experiences of expanded consciousness early in this life propelled me to want to earn degrees in mathematics and physics, which I did.

While I was teaching mathematics and working for the US government as a systems analyst specializing in mathematical modeling, I began to develop a system of triadic logic that grew into a calculus in 1989, with the derivation of some of the fundamental mathematical operations of the calculus of dimensional distinctions (CoDD). I will spare the reader the tedious details of the derivations because they have been published elsewhere and are clearly beyond the scope of this post. Besides, only the rare mathematical logician is likely to enjoy such things.

As an aside, and at the risk of sounding arrogant, I am not attempting to lay out an argument here to convince anyone. I really do not care whether I am believed or not. What I have to say has already been proved, both by agreement with experimental data and empirical observation, by resolving numerous paradoxes in the standard model, and by mathematical proof from basic axiomatic principles. The reader will find all of this peer-reviewed and published. Lists of the publications are provided in posts on this blogsite. In this series of posts, I am just trying to tell the truth as I understand it.

I know that the ideas I am presenting here are controversial in the eyes of many scientists, but I have listened patiently, and carefully analyzed numerous counter arguments from some of the most highly regarded mainstream scientists and mathematicians from some of the best universities in the world, for more than a decade, and none of them stood up under scrutiny. Every argument challenging my 1965 proof of Fermat’s Last Theorem and the demonstrations and proofs of TDVP, failed when analyzed using Fermat’s logically impeccable process of infinite descent. When the quantum descent reached the level of basic assumptions, their arguments failed, and they were reduced to Richard Feynman’s defense: “We simply don’t understand it.”

Taking a Deeper Look

To my surprise, relativity and quantum physics, the double foci of my master’s degree work in 1962, have become quite popular subjects. Not because they are easily understood; no, it’s quite the opposite. It is because almost no one understands these subjects that the words ‘relativity’ and ‘quantum’ are often used by people who have never opened a physics book. And it is a curious thing that just about every physicist, when asked about quantum theory, talks about quantum weirdness, and states the opinion, in some form, that nobody really understands it! I have also found that almost no one, including people with advanced degrees in engineering and science, actually understands what constant light speed implies and, consequently, what relativity is really about. TDVP effectively integrates and clarifies quantum physics and relativity, but in this post, I will focus on quantum physics to highlight the simple mistake that led modern science astray.

Most people who think about it much, come to realize that the difference in size between the everyday objects that our physical senses are designed to deal with and the elementary objects existing at the quantum scale, is really immense. Try to wrap your mind around this:

The data tell us that the radius of the quark is smaller than 43 billion-billionths of a centimetre (0.43 x 10−16 cm). That’s 2,000 times smaller than a proton radius, which is about 60,000 times smaller than the radius of a hydrogen atom, which is about forty times smaller than the radius of a DNA double-helix, which is about a million times smaller than a grain of sand. So there. Quarks (along with electrons) remain the smallest things we know, and as far as we can tell, they could still be infinitely small.” – Particle physicist Prof. Jon Butterworth, University College of London, and CERN Large Hadron Collider researcher

The phrase “infinitely small”, when applied to a quantum object, is an oxymoron - a self-contradictory phrase that implies that elementary quantum particles are dimensionless points. Particle physicist Professor Butterworth is telling us with a straight face that electrons and quarks are actually nothing substantial, that they are mathematical singularities, and despite having no physical dimensions, they have physical properties like mass and energy, and/or are able to impart mass and energy to other particles. How can this be possible? If this is quantum mechanics, then what exactly is the mechanism involved?

Questioning statements of experts like Professor Butterworth is not being disrespectful. Actually, questioning the experts is the heart of the scientific method. Just because an expert tells us something, doesn’t necessarily mean that it is true - especially if it contains such blatant paradoxes! Could this paradoxical situation be an indication that there is a mistake in the assumptions upon which the standard model is built?

We should be skeptical of details deduced from generalizations, even if the generalizations are widely accepted. For example, in this case, why do we continue to believe that elementary quantum objects like electrons and quarks are particles, when the empirical evidence suggests that they are not? The fact that the size of an elementary particle is many, many orders of magnitude smaller than the smallest thing our most advanced technology can detect with any specificity, makes any details and properties deduced about these objects fuzzy at best, and probably erroneous. Professor Butterworth continues:

According to our best theory (the ‘Standard Model’) quarks are in fact point like – infinitely small. This doesn’t mean they have zero chance of being scattered by an electron, but it does mean that this chance can be precisely predicted just by considering the forces involved, including various odd but understood quantum effects. Once you have taken those into account, the quark should look the same, no matter how closely you look.

Just because we can’t see the details of quantum objects doesn’t mean that those details don’t exist, but if there is no way we can see them, what does it mean to talk about how a quark looks? We should be suspicious of “various odd but understood quantum effects” that, when taken into account, will make a quark “look the same, no matter how closely you look.” I’m sorry, but odd quantum effects sound like handy fudge factors, or sophisticated smoke and mirrors to cover the fact that particle physicists have no idea what they are talking about. And finally, the paradox of dimensionless particles is a fundamental problem. In a stable quantum reality, such things simply cannot exist because energy and mass are quantized. Fractions of quanta, if they ever exist, are so unstable that they disappear in a flash, radiating away with no effect on stable structures.

You might be wondering how I can say with certainty that dimensionless particles cannot exist, given the extreme smallness of quarks and electrons described above. My answer may surprise you. Like any good math problem, it can be proved in a number of ways, and I will describe three of them now.

 

DIMENSIONLESS PARTICLES CANNOT EXIST

Proving a Negative

I’ve heard an amazing number of otherwise intelligent people say: “You can’t prove a negative!” Perhaps you have too. If so, and you believed it, you might be saying now: How can you prove that dimensionless particles do not exist? That’s trying to prove a negative! We hear a lot about “mis-information” these days; well, the statement that a negative statement can’t be proved is a good example of a bit of misinformation that has been widely believed. Sometimes, proving a negative can be really difficult, but it can be done, if the negative is true, and it has been done many times by mathematicians, logicians, and even ordinary people.

I think this wrong idea may have risen from the fact that it is much easier to disprove a negative than it is to prove one. The classical example is a statement about black crows: “There are no crows of any color other than black”. Even if you convert this negative statement into a positive one: “All crows are black” It can only be proved by looking at every single crow that exists, while it is easily disproved the minute you find only one crow of any other color.

Similarly, the statement that you “can’t prove a negative” is proved wrong if even one counter example can be shown, and here’s one that’s easy to prove: No prime number greater than 2 is an even number. Fortunately, we don’t have to look at every prime number larger than 2, because there are an infinite number of them. But, by definition, a prime number is only divisible by itself and 1, and all even numbers are divisible by at least three numbers: 1, 2, and the number itself. Therefore, no prime number greater than 2 is even, QED.

I provided this proof of a negative for two reasons: 1) to disprove the idea that a negative can’t be proved, and 2) to show that proving even a fairly obvious truth is not as easy as one might think. It has been my experience as a teacher of mathematics, that most people have only a vague notion of what a proof is.

A famous negative statement that was so difficult to prove that it took the world’s best mathematicians more than 300 years to prove it, is known as Fermat’s Last Theorem. It is stated as follows: “There are no whole-number solutions for the equation xn +yn =zn when n is greater than 2.” I proved Fermat’s Last Theorem in 1965 and published it in an appendix in my first book, The Book of Atma, in 1977, 340 years after Fermat articulated it in 1637. The torturous history of my proof is documented in posts on this blog.

Proof of No Singularities by Direct Perception

I vividly remember the first time it happened. I was eleven years old, sitting in a classroom in the old Pilot Knob schoolhouse built of pink granite blocks of stone from the Graniteville quarries in the next valley north. I slipped into a day-dreaming state. Looking at the teacher, who was standing at the front of the room, suddenly, my senses began to be heightened. Everything I could see and hear was being magnified, bigger and bigger, louder, and louder, until anything I focused my attention on filled all time and space. It was as if I was zooming in on the teacher’s face, for example, until I could see every detail of her face, more and more highly magnified, until I was seeing cells, and beyond. It was my first experience in this life of several siddhis carried over from a previous life. But I didn’t know what it was at the time, and I had no control of what I was experiencing.

Fortunately, this spontaneous state of expanded consciousness didn’t scare me. It didn’t happen to me in circumstances where it might have been dangerous, and it continued to happen many times after that. It usually happened following moments of reverie or at night just before I went to sleep. After it had happened several times, I told my father about what I was experiencing, and he reassured me, saying that he had had similar experiences as a boy, and that I would probably outgrow it; so, I never tried to avoid it or stop it. In fact, I enjoyed it, drifting off to sleep some nights while listening to some distant orchestra, hearing the perfect harmony of various instruments, and sometimes, I saw exotic gardens where fountains of crystal-clear waters sparkled in the sun, and the colors of the flowers and foliage were brighter and more vibrant than any I have ever seen with my physical eyes.

It occurred to me that my physical senses were severely fragmented, limited remnants of the total spiritual awareness that is the essence of human consciousness. In expanded states of consciousness, distant viewing, distant hearing, and the ability to see anything, even as large as the whole physical universe, or as small as an electron, is possible. This brings me to the studies of Annie Bessant, Charles Leadbeater, and others who were inspired to use siddhis developed in meditation to view the subatomic structures of the atoms of the periodic table in the time period 1895 to 1925 in England. Their results were published in a book in 1926. They were summarily rejected by the scientific community because their methods did not conform to the established scientific paradigm, and the results were couched in the esoteric language of nineteenth century mysticism.

More than a century later, Dr. Surendra Pokharna, an Indian PhD physicist, studying the ancient science of Jainism, was inspired by TDVP and our work identifying the quantum equivalence units (TRUE) of gimmel in each of the elements of the periodic table, to suggest a study determining whether there was a correlation between the number of anu units Bessant and Leadbeater “saw” in each of the elements and the number of TRUE we found in them mathematically. The study was done, and  a paper was written: The remarkable Besant-Leadbeater studies in Quantal Clairvoyance (quantal remote viewing) correlate profoundly with the Triadic Rotational Units of Equivalence Quantal models in TDVP, by Vernon M Neppe MD, PhD, Surendra Singh Pokharna PhD, and Edward R. Close PhD, PE.

The following excerpt from the paper is relevant to our discussion:

“This paper, more than any other in the history of Consciousness Research, provides indisputable data for psi. The data is not only profoundly statistically significant … it is truly unmeasurable, possibly beyond the one in a billion-billion probability, with correlation coefficients approaching one. It also describes the never-before (scientifically) proven phenomenon of Clairvoyant Remote Viewing…it has major implications for ‘Consciousness’ …functioning at the higher dimensional levels (e.g., Dimensions 7 to 9) based on TDVP theory. The results, …fraud-proof because the Besant data has been available in published form for a century, …and TDVP data has been previously mathematically proven, is 100% replicable, with TRUE quantal unit scores definitively empirically validated. We must recognize the physical 3S-1t domain that we experience as part of our multidimensional… existence. …Quantal Clairvoyance must apply in the 9D- TDVP-TRUE context.”

This study is relevant to our discussion here because it verifies the existence of the siddhis. It also validates the results of the Bessant-Leadbeater study because the TRUE analysis results that validate the Bessant-Leadbeater clairvoyant results, are validated by current LHC experimental data.

Physical Proof of No Singularities

In a stable quantum reality, physical singularities simply cannot exist because energy and mass are quantized. Fractions of quanta, if they ever exist, are so unstable that they disappear in a flash with no effect on stable structures.

Mathematical Proof of No Singularities

The combination of two quarks, expressed as a Diophantine equation (because quantum objects are quantized) has no solution; a fact easily proved by application of Fermat’s Last Theorem. But the TRUE mathematical combination of two up-quarks and one down-quark that results in the formation of the extremely stable object known as the proton, solved as a Diophantine equation, has solutions that have significant meanings in the physical world. Proofs of these significant physical configurations are accomplished by the elegant method known as infinite descent. CoDD proofs show conclusively that singularities cannot exist in quantized reality. In simple terms, stated as clearly as I can put it: There is a “bottom” to physical reality. That bottom is one quantum, not an infinitely small singularity. The siddhi referred to in the paragraphs above is the direct conscious experience of the mathematical process of infinite descent.


CONCLUSION 

As I watch the endless cycles of life displayed again in the Ozarks wilderness outside the windows of my retirement home on the edge of the Mark Twain National Forest and the Current River National Scenic Waterways, on this first day of May 2022, I am grateful to God, AKA Primary Consciousness, for the blessings of a wonderful life, full of adventure, intrigue, challenges, and fulfillment. And this is just the beginning because even though there is a bottom to an infinite descent, Reality is not limited to one dimension with one direction. There is also Infinite Ascent, with no ceiling!

What is the meaning and purpose of this series of 24 blogposts? I would have written every one of them, even if I knew no one would ever read them because as Richard Feynman once said, if I can’t explain it so a first-year student can understand it, then I don’t understand it. And as Mrs. Roberts, English teacher, and Counselor extraordinaire at Houston High in 1954 said, all those years and tears ago: “You might become the greatest scientist who ever lived, but if you can’t communicate what you find, then it’s meaningless.”

This series began in the spacetime dimensional domain where I was when I decided to enter this life in 1936: on the threshold of consciousness, and proceeded, like a stone skipping on a pool of still water to visit a few highlights of this journey, where I tried to distill some of the lessons learned and communicate them to one, or a few who might be interested. I believe that I had, and have, no less than six spiritual guides who gave me a mission to fulfill, and only they, with directions from the One who spoke this universe into existence, can tell me when it is accomplished. Until then, I will continue to do whatever this is that I am doing, and you, dear reader, can decide whether you think these words are of any value or use to you or not.

As you know, if you’ve read and understood these posts, no system of logic is ever complete; there was no absolute beginning, and there will be no final end. I have told Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, if he’s listening, that there is something rather than nothing because there is no beginning or end, and thus no such thing as nothing. With the discovery of gimmel and the indisputable proof that reality has a non-physical part, and that that non-physical part is much larger, more important, and more real, than the physical part, I think I can rest until the stone skips again, and I have to continue to contend with the joys and sorrows of existing.

Finally, what I have been trying to say is: God is Love, God is Light, and as long as we can feel that love for everyone and everything that’s real, we’ll be alright!

THE HUMAN CONDITION: BETWEEN HEAVEN AND HELL

 


THE FININTE TOUCHING THE INFINITE

This is a follow-up, related to the previous blogpost about Self-Inquiry, which was an introductory description of the process of consciously moving from the bodily imprisonment of the self, to the boundless freedom of the Infinite Self. As you probably know, the transition is most often not an easy one. The journey of challenging experiences that characterize being a spiritually evolving human being, is both a blessing and a curse. Along with the greater freedom that comes with increased freedom of spirit, comes greater responsibility, and also, while in transition, greater uncertainty. As a human being, you are more than flesh and bone, but less than omniscient. As a conscious being, you are the personification of gimmel, a mysterious bridge between the finite and the Infinite. 

Aware of your own consciousness as something separate from everything else, but intimately involved in, and attached to a physical conglomeration of organs and micro-organisms that seem to operate semi-independently, relative to your awareness of them, with limited training, you soon find yourself responsible for their maintenance and functioning as a vehicle for your consciousness. And, more often than not, you also find yourself swept up in a complex series of on-going dramas, the beginnings, meaning, and endings of which you have little or no knowledge.

In my opinion, human beings are probably the teenagers of cosmic evolution; no longer innocent babies or toddlers, completely dependent upon other, more knowledgeable beings for their nourishment and safety, but still not yet competent adult souls, either. Like most teenagers, we think we know a lot more than we really do, and without some oversight and guidance from more knowledgeable beings, we face the danger of doing serious harm to ourselves and others. I am happy to report that I have seen evidence of such guidance personally, on a number of occasions in my life, but those experiences are not the focus of this post.

Every life’s journey is a unique story, and we can only really understand what we have experienced personally. But it is important that we honor each other’s experiences and recollections, because the memories of our own unique experiences form the basis of our belief about what we are as individual beings, even though the ultimate goal of all conscious beings may be the same.  Just because I have not experienced something that you report, doesn’t mean that it isn’t real. 

In my case, because of my training in this life, and in past lives, as a mathematician and philosopher of science, I tend to deal with my experiences in the belief framework of what has traditionally been known as “Natural Science”. What I want to try to do in this post is to explain how certain of my personal Near Death and Out of Body Experiences that I have described in earlier posts and publications, led to the formulation of the integrated mathematical model of reality we are calling TDVP and interpreting philosophically as Unified Monism.

The initial NDE and subsequent OBEs that I experienced in the Great Pyramid in 2010 were preceded by an unusual experience: I was standing with a small group of friends in complete darkness in the Queen’s Chamber, when a ball of light that I assumed to be static electricity, struck me and I suddenly felt the spinning motions of the physical universe. I was thrown about, and I would have collided with a wall, or fallen to the stone floor, if two other members of the group hadn’t grabbed me by my arms.  Here are some excerpts from the account of the experience that I wrote after it happened:

“The ball of light struck me on the forehead, but there was no feeling of impact. Instead, I immediately experienced extreme vertigo. I could feel the spinning of the planet on its axis. I could also feel the rushing of the Earth through space in its orbit around the Sun, the Sun moving through the Milky Way Galaxy, and the Galaxy wheeling its way through the universe. I could feel all these spinning motions at once! There was no up or down, only the sensation of a swiftly accelerating complex whirling motion. … After the ball of light struck me, and the world went spiraling out of control, I began to see lights, hear sounds and see symbols and faces. When the spinning got too intense to bear, I left the body. While out of the body, I felt no spinning, no vertigo, and the lights, sounds, symbols, and faces became clearer, but when I turned back toward my body, I began to experience extreme vertigo again, increasing to the point that I was forced to throw up. Each time I threw up, I was propelled out of the body again. While out of the body, I experienced a series of vivid visions or dreams.” 

What I want to focus on here is some of the things I learned from the experiences of leaving and re-entering my body, during the OBEs, and how they contributed to the development of the mathematics of the TDVP model. As I look back at those experiences now, I realize that the specific logical procedures that led to the discovery of gimmel are mathematical representations of experiences I personally lived through for a couple of days! For example, the rotation and projection from an n-dimensional domain into an n+1 dimensional domain, which I call Dimensional Extrapolation, is a mathematical generalization of the spinning and projection out of the body that I experienced. The OBEs were experienced in dimensional domains with more mutually orthogonal dimensions than the domain we normally experience through the physical senses of the human body.

During the transitions from one dimensional domain to another, the normal feeling of stability and equilibrium that physics tells us results from standing balanced vertically in a uniform gravitational field, was replaced with the sickening experience of high-speed curvilinear accelerated motion. It was as if my internal gyroscope, or some other form of motion reciprocation normally at work in organic lifeforms on this planet to cancel the effects of the multiple rapid curvilinear motions of planet Earth, effectively stabilizing conscious perception, were turned off by the electromagnetic flux of the ball of light that struck me. As I was propelled from domain to domain to experience certain scenes and events as a helpless observer, it became clear that my OBEs were being managed by an intelligence far superior to mine. I had no control over what I was experiencing. Each time I tried to escape and return to normal consciousness, I became desperately ill, and had no option other than to observe what I was being shown. 

Now, more than 10 years after these experiences, I can see how what I was shown was retained in my brain at a semi-subconscious level. Some of it has been allowed to surface in the intellectual activity of the development of the TDVP model in collaboration with Dr. Vernon Neppe. What I have been trying to do in this post is to reveal the connection between the OBEs and the development of the TDVP model. However, just now, as I am trying to bring more of the NDE and OBE experiences that occurred in March of 2010 to the surface, I am beginning to experience the same vertigo and sickness again. With a spinning headache, on the verge of becoming physically ill, I am going to stop writing now.

OBJECTIVE SELF INQUIRY


 

THE IMPORTANCE OF SELF-INQUIRY

Self-Inquiry may sound like something very subjective and personal until you realize that the ego we think of as our personal self is an illusion. Only insomuch as one realizes that the real Self exists as part of the matrix within which the ephemeral imagery of the individual ego-based self appears to exist, is one able to embark on the straight and narrow path of Self-Inquiry. Inquiry into the Real Self is not subjective and personal, as materialists incorrectly assume. On the contrary, it is the ultimate objectivity. It is the study of the non-physical reality underlying and permeating the physical universe, and it is the basis of the science of the future.

“The day science begins to study non-physical phenomena, it will make more progress in one decade than in all the previous centuries of its existence.” – Nikola Tesla

What does this Tesla quote have to do with Self-Inquiry? Everything! A little background will help clarify the point:

In 2010, a series of Near-Death, and Out-of-Body Experiences (NDEs & OBEs) totally disrupted my life. They began one afternoon in the Queen’s Chamber of the Great Pyramid on the Giza Plateau in Egypt, and they continued throughout that day, the following night, and up until the following afternoon in the Ancient City of Petra, in Southern Jordan. I have written about these experiences in several posts on this blogsite, and in a couple of books. During the OBEs, that started with a series of horribly sickening spinning sensations, totally disorienting me in space and time, I experienced a rapid stream of audio and visual information pouring into my consciousness. I was told later that what I experienced was part of a global shift and realignment of Consciousness, and that detailed knowledge from ancient and future ages of enlightenment had been downloaded into hyper-dimensional compartments of my mind, to which I normally have little or no access. I know now that those experiences were significant and formative in my involvement in the first decade of the scientific study of non-physical phenomena.

The first decade of the scientific study of non-physical phenomena really began for me about a year later in 2011, when I discovered that a non-physical form of objective reality was necessary for any stable atomic structure to exist. The discovery of the existence of a third measurable form of reality, more basic than the other two measurable forms of objective reality, i.e., matter and energy, gave rise to a new scientific paradigm. The quantification of the non-physical aspect of reality is hidden in plain sight in the Large Hadron Collider data, the basic laws of physics, and pure mathematics. The key concepts that led to this discovery first surfaced in a discussion with Dr. Vernon Neppe during our first face-to-face meeting in Amsterdam in 2010, and was augmented a few days later with the information downloaded into my consciousness during the NDEs and OBEs that I experienced in Egypt and Jordan. Finally, application of the primary logic of quantum calculation, producing a series of mathematical proofs, completed and documented the discovery.

Dr. Neppe and I had already begun our work together a couple of years earlier, soon after our virtual meeting as members of the International Society for Philosophical Enquiry (ISPE) in 2008. Inspired by the complementarity of ideas that we had developed separately over a number of years, we went to work developing a new scientific paradigm capable of embracing the verified details of the current scientific model in a new theoretical framework, expanded to include verifiable non-physical phenomena. By 2011, our new model of reality was based on Large Hadron Collider data, relativistic quantum calculations, and objectively proved mathematical theorems that led to the discovery of the non-physical aspect of reality. This comprehensive paradigm, once generally accepted, will bring about a major shift to a much-needed post-materialist science with an enormous potential for improving our understanding of reality and changing human society for the betterment of all people. The logic of this new paradigm also reveals the fallacy of the materialistic assumption underlying the current mainstream scientific paradigm.

Discovery of the non-physical aspect of reality introduced a completely new concept into modern science, and we soon realized that an appropriate way to refer to it was needed. We decided to use gimmel, the third letter of the Hebrew alphabet to represent the quantifiable non-physical aspect of reality. We did this for a number of reasons, including the fact that it is the third aspect of reality, and gimmel, the third letter, also represents a means of conveyance or a bridge, in this case, a bridge between physical and non-physical reality.

As we worked on the new paradigm, we saw Nikola Tesla’s prediction start to come true. On an almost daily basis, the new paradigm unfolded to predict new phenomena and explain puzzles and paradoxes existing in the current materialistic paradigm. Within the first decade of applying this new approach, we counted more than fifty (50) phenomenal puzzles existing within and beyond the current materialistic paradigm, that we successfully explained in the logic of the new paradigm. Our model, the Triadic Dimensional Vortical Paradigm (TDVP) was verified, at least in our minds and in the minds of a handful of other scientists from the more than 200 scientists worldwide to whom a description of the new unified paradigm was submitted for peer review.

So, you might ask, why hasn’t this work been accepted and applauded by the established scientific community? There are a number of reasons that this hasn’t happened, but the main reason was expressed very well by Max Planck, one of the great scientists who made a discovery leading to the last major paradigm shift. He said:

“A new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing its opponents and making them see the light, but rather because its opponents eventually die, and a new generation grows up that is familiar with it. … Science progresses from funeral to funeral.”

 

Max  Planck is celebrated today by mainstream scientists as the father of quantum physics, but most mainstream scientists, trained in a materialistic paradigm, simply ignore Planck’s deeper insight into the nature of reality, which he stated very clearly as follows:


“As a man who has devoted his whole life to the most clear-headed science, to the study of matter, I can tell you as the result of my research about atoms this much: there is no matter as such. All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force. We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intelligent Mind. This Mind is the matrix of all matter.” – Max Planck

 

Hint: The discovery of and contact with this Mind is what the post is all about.

 

With the exception of a few brave scientists, the majority of mainstream scientists asked to review TDVP were unable to evaluate the paradigm shift with an open mind, because of their vested interest in the current materialistic paradigm. Many of them refused to even look at the proofs when they saw the first reference to non-physical phenomena, and a few attacked TDVP, looking for any means to discredit it, rather than trying to understand it. Dr. Neppe and I have addressed the criticisms leveled at the TDVP by the mainstream scientists who attacked it. Our responses can be found in a number of journal papers and articles, and in posts on this blogsite. But re-hashing those arguments is not what this post is about.

 

As far as I am concerned, the validity and value of the TDVP paradigm shift has been more than adequately demonstrated and proved, both mathematically and empirically, so now it is time to move on with the application of the new paradigm. Personally, I am at a point in life where I owe no allegiance to materialistic academia or government, so I am free to investigate the most basic questions that are ignored by mainstream scientists. The shift to the consciousness-based Triadic Dimensional Vortical Paradigm allows me to address the basic questions of great importance, like:  What is the Reality behind the physical façade of reality that we experience through the limited physical senses? What is the purpose of life? What is consciousness? And who am I? These are questions that can be addressed within the framework of TDVP, through Self-Inquiry.

 

You may be thinking: What does a scientific paradigm, a mathematical model, have to do with such questions? The answer to that question is what this post is about. Just as gimmel is an effective bridge between the physical and non-physical aspects of reality, the unified monism of TDVP is an effective bridge between our experience of reality through the limited physical senses and our experience of the non-physical aspects of reality through the expanded awareness of multi-dimensional perception. But before the institutions of mainstream science can make the transition from the current materialist dominated enterprise it is, and shift to an expanded postmaterialist science, scientists will have to start to be trained much differently. To move toward a new, more comprehensive science, they need training in Self-Inquiry.

 

Mainstream scientists, for the most part, are not well-balanced human beings. They have spent many years learning to divorce their own consciousness from objective reality. Our educational institutions today do not train students of science, engineering, and technology to think for themselves, and certainly not to think outside the box of materialism. They are trained to follow the focused instructions of departmental specialists and use conventional reasoning and technical equipment, while entirely neglecting their most important investigative asset, the one thing that connects them directly with reality: their own consciousness.

 

A scientist who has neglected Self-Inquiry, ignores an enormous part of reality. But, don’t misunderstand me; I am not dismissing the work of mainstream scientists; their work is very valuable from the standpoint of practical application, but a person who has not expanded his or her consciousness through meditation techniques leading to effective Self-Inquiry, will most likely only be contributing to the investigation of an existing paradigm. Even the idea of expanding the scientific view of reality to incorporate non-physical phenomena is not likely to occur to them or appeal to them. The combination of departmental specialization and neglect of Self-Inquiry is what assures the outcome that Planck commented on when he said “Science progresses from funeral to funeral.”  

 

Self-Inquiry may sound like nothing but subjective introspection, until we realize that the identification of self with a physical body is an addictive illusion. Only insomuch as one realizes that the real Self is the matrix from which the ephemeral individual self emerges, is one ready to set out on the path of Self-Inquiry. Inquiry into the real Self is not subjective and uniquely personal, as materialistic science incorrectly assumes, on the contrary, it is ultimate objectivity, and it is the basis for the real comprehensive science of the future.

It is important to note that Self-Inquiry does not require an exceptionally high IQ, or extensive university training. In fact, excessive intellectual sophistication and institutionalized specialization is what prevents most mainstream scientists from seeing beyond the materialistic limitations of the current paradigm. On the other hand, anyone with an open mind and the desire to know the truth can find the way to a new understanding of reality and enlightenment through Self-Inquiry.

If you are with me so far, you may be thinking: It sounds too simple; or you may want to know: How does one go about engaging in effective Self-Inquiry? Whether you realize it or not, Spiritual Masters, the fully enlightened ones, have taught methods of consciousness expansion through Self-Inquiry throughout the ages, but their teachings are often subverted by lesser beings who exploit the revelations of Self-Inquiry, which they do not understand, for personal gain, power, and control over others. Self-Inquiry is simple, but the mind, addicted to identification with the superficial aspects of personality and physical fascination, is very adept from many years of practice, effectively sidetracking any real effort to advance spiritually. In my estimation, maybe as much as 95 % of the thoughts that flood the average person’s consciousness on a daily basis are trivial and superficial, with little or no relevance to the real purpose of life, which is mental, physical, and spiritual advancement toward the full-blown enlightenment of Cosmic Consciousness.

 

Everyone needs someone or something to believe in, and belief in something unseen is the definiti0on of faith. Christians believe in Jesus and his eventual return, Jews believe in the Messiah yet to come, Muslims believe in the prophets of Judaism and Christianity, and in Mohammed as the last prophet, Buddhists believe in the Buddha and many Buddhas to come, and mainstream scientists believe in materialism; but knowledge is better than belief, because it does not require blind-faith acceptance of someone else’s ideas. The discovery that the stability of atomic structure depends on the existence of non-physical gimmel brings the non-physical phenomena experienced by spiritually advanced conscious beings into the realm of possible experience for the average person, and it also provides the basis for an extended form of science. A more detailed knowledge and understanding of reality, from the gross mundane perceptions of matter to the most ecstatic experiences of spirituality, obtained through scientific Self-Inquiry, will benefit everyone.

 

So exactly what is Self-Inquiry? First, Self-Inquiry must not be confused with self-inquiry. The activities of self-inquiry (self with a small ‘s’) are superficial visceral reactions caused by personal ego attachment and an unhealthy fascination with our own negative emotions and psychoses. Self-Inquiry (with a large ‘S’) is a much deeper experience in which focused consciousness turns and penetrates through and beyond the five-dimensional domain of space-time and individual consciousness, into the substrate of Reality and the higher-dimensional domains of Primary Consciousness. Incidentally, the mathematical process of Dimensional Extrapolation that I developed and described in the published accounts of the discovery of gimmel, is a conceptional representation of the consciousness expansion of Self-Inquiry. It describes the spinning motion and projection from an n-dimensional domain into an n+1 dimensional domain conceptually like what I experienced in the Great Pyramid.

 

The experience of moving consciously from the perceptual existence of an 4-D earthly dimensional domain to another, more expanded domain, resulting from the rotation and projection of Self-Inquiry, cannot be adequately conveyed in words, but an analogy might help: The consciousness identified with the small self might be likened to the experience of living in a man-made city, offering an exciting environment, with lots of distractions, but largely fake and artificial. Expanding that small self-awareness through Self-Inquiry is like driving beyond the city limits and becoming aware of the wonderful world of Pristine Nature surrounding and encompassing the prison-like environment of the city. It is only when one has escaped into the fresh air and vibrant energy of Nature, that one can begin to realize how unnatural, confining, and polluted the city actually is.

 

Finally, I will end this post with a brief discussion of the process of Self-Inquiry: First, you must turn the searchlight of your mind completely around, from the outward search for meaning in material things, to focus inward, laser-like, on your own unique experience of consciousness. This is the practical meaning of the Biblical reprimand “repent”. To repent means more than just to be sorry for wrong things you may have done, it means to completely reverse the focus of your mind. By doing so, you become a silent observer, engrossed in the one and only thing that you actually can experience directly: Consciousness. This is the only way you can quiet the constant chatter of your habitually grasping, covetous mind, and “Be still and know that I am God!” - Psalm 46:10.

Next, consider the intent of Christ Jesus when he gave his disciples instructions: His intent was to teach them how to turn their attention around, from outward fascination with the ever-changing physical aspects of reality, inward to experience direct contact with the Holy Spirit, Christ Consciousness, and the Eternal Presence of God. “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you” – Luke 17:20-21. True perception comes from turning within and focused Self-Inquiry.

And in Mathew 6:22 he said: “The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.”  

The physical sense of sight is a finite manifestation of the more comprehensive sense of spiritual perception. The intent of turning your attention of perception inward is to switch from physical vision to spiritual vision. This turning of attention from the sensations of the body, the little self, to the perceptions of the Primary Consciousness of the greater Self, is what I am calling “Self-Inquiry.
